2024 URECC Team

Aashna Ganatra

Aashna Ganatra is entering her fifth year in the Real Estate Co-Op program at the University of Guelph. As incoming co-president, Aashna is excited to welcome judges, delegates, sponsors and industry members to our 2024 competition! This is her fourth year on URECC and previously held the positions of Vice President of Corporate Relations and Director of Marketing. 

Through her co-op experience, Aashna has had the opportunity to work in different areas of the real estate industry.  First, as a leasing associate at InterRent REIT and most recently as an Acquisitions Associate at Allied REIT. Aashna is proud to be part of such a driven and collaborative student-led team and looks forward to hosting a great competition. 

Lauren Hinchliffe

Lauren is a fifth year student at the University of Guelph, majoring in the Real Estate Co-op program. This will be her third year on the URECC team and she is eager for this year’s upcoming event. Lauren previously held the position of the Director of Marketing and Director of Corporate Relations where she developed strong relationships with the team, which will translate into her role as co-president. In the future, Lauren wants to pursue a career in commercial real estate. Lauren is proud to call herself a Gryphon and to be a part of an amazing team.

Casey Hicknell

Canadian Delegate Outreach

Casey Hicknell is a fifth year student at the University of Guelph and he is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce Real Estate Co-op Program. This is his second year being a part of the URECC team and he will be taking on the role as Vice President of Delegate Outreach for Canadian Universities. Casey is thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute his knowledge and experience to the URECC team! 

Heading into fifth-year, Casey is extremely excited for what the future has in store post-graduation. His current role as a Research Assistant for Antec Appraisal Group has sparked a newfound interest and understanding for many elements of real estate appraisal. Casey also remains interested in real estate development and worked his last co-op as an Student Research Assistant for SkyDev which is one of the many subsidiaries under the Skyline Group of Companies. Moving forward, Casey will likely pursue a career in one of these two areas.   

Ethan Tyo

International Delegate Outreach

Ethan is a fifth-year student in the Real Estate Program. He is extremely excited and thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of this URECC team. Ethan is looking forward to further developing his ability to coordinate business events efficiently, and effectively while helping other URECC members accomplish their goals in any way possible. 

 

He has had the opportunity to work for the CLV Group and Interrent REIT and Guelph Campus Co-op as part of my work term experience.  Ethan spent most of his time in sales, and Property Management, however, he is open to diversifying his portfolio in the industry. One sector that really stands out to him is Real Estate Development.

Alyssa Follo
Vice President, Corporate Relations

Alyssa is a fourth-year student at the University of Guelph, majoring in Real Estate and housing. This is her first year as a member of the URECC team, and she will take on the role of Vice President of Corporate Relations. She looks forward to contributing her knowledge and industry experience from working at CBRE and Oxford to the team. Alyssa is excited to be a part of such a dynamic team and can't wait to host this year's event! In the future, she aspires to pursue a career in commercial real estate, specifically retail leasing.

 

As for professional aspirations, she is interested in industrial real estate and would like to pursue a career in that area in the future.

Michelle Haros
Vice President, Marketing

Michelle is in her third year of the Real Estate Co-op program at the University of Guelph, and she's back for her second year with the URECC team. With experience from similar volunteer roles, she's got a good handle on digital marketing skills, something she's excited to use this term. Michelle is also minoring in marketing, showing her special interest in the subject. Her goal in this role is simple: bring new ideas to the table and help make the event a success in any way she can.

 

As for professional aspirations, Michelle is interested in Industrial Real Estate and would like to pursue a career in that area in the future.

Taggart Gula

Taggart Gula is currently in his second year at the University of Guelph in the Real Estate and Housing Co-op Program. As this is the first year he will be a part of the URECC team he is looking to learn about the event and how it runs. Taggart is excited to help out in several different sectors providing assistance to other members of URECC. As he is in the Co-op program, he is excited to get hands-on experience working while in school especially in the Commercial Real Estate sector. Taggart is thankful to be given this opportunity and will make the most out of his remaining years at the University of Guelph.
